Twenty One Pilots is an American band from Columbus, Ohio that formed in 2009. The band was formed by Tyler Joseph, Nick Thomas, and Chris Salih and shortly after released their first studio album “Twenty One Pilots.” Nick and Chris left the band in 2011 and Josh joined the band. Tyler and Josh released their second album “Regional at Best” with the song “Ode to Sleep” being released with a music video. They signed with Fueled by Ramen in 2012 and released their third album “Vessel” in 2013. Vessel was the duo’s first album that was signed under a company, which they continue release music under today.
In 2015 the duo released their most successful album “Blurryface” with the singles “Stressed Out” and “Ride”. They won Best Duo/Group Performance at the 59th Annual Grammys Awards during their Blurryface era. “Heathens” was part of the Suicide Squad (2016) soundtrack which has reached fame similar to “Stressed Out” and “Ride.”
“Trench” was released in 2018 as their 5th album with the singles “Jumpsuit” and “Nico and the Niners.” This album would be the first of three where lore is introduced within the music videos as Clancy attempts to escape DEMA with the banditos. Tyer is portrayed as Clancy whereas Josh is the leader of the banditos.
